This first painting of THE MERMAID was actually my mother, Vanita Wade Mercer, posing under the fish net as a promotional photo for her show business career. She worked as a dance girl in alot of Betty Grable movies from the 30's and 40's such as, When My Baby Smiles at Me - prints are available. Read about her here.
